The line up for Beni this year isn't gonna set anyone's pants on fire but the news this week that the final headline act is set to be Devo was a weird one.
My money was on the Stones or The Police. Now I know that may have been wishful thinking but it kinda made sense. The Stones only UK festival was Isle of Wight and The Police had just announced the big reforming situ.
So Devo...now for me Devo do have a special place in my heart. As a kid I LOVED the video to Whip It. It was like nothing I'd seen before. Funny men dressed up like futuristic Bill and Ben's dancing in a jerky, silly way - they were cooler than cool.
So when I saw the coverage of their most recent gig in The London Paper on way home from work and there they were in all their yellow boiler suited, plastic red flowerpot hat greatness I have to admit that in my little tummy I got a flicker of excitement butterfy attacks like I was 6 again.
Roll on Beni!

dan le sac vs scroobius pip are on at the same time as devo. i know where i'll be and it won't involve plant pots.
