After the downright, terribly cheesey show from Mr Page in the Olympics closing ceremony with that talentless piece of poo poo Leona Lewis (I swear big ballad bollocks died when Ms Carey divorced big fat Tommy Mottola?) we now have some actual good Led Zepp news.
According to Jason Bonham, son of the late John Bonham - Zeppelin's Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones have been working on new material, Bonham told Detroit's WCSX radio station that he had been meeting with Page and Jones in England, filling in for his late father on drums.
In today's Guardian Bonham is quoted as saying"I've been over [to England] a couple of times, I've been working with Jimmy and John Paul and trying to do ... some new material and some writing. I don't know what it will be, but it will be something."
How exciting. Bonham played drums for Led Zepps O2 show earlier this year and although many fans hoped for a reunion tour, nothing has materialised, and band members have remained tight lipped about any upcoming plans.
Plant has been touring in support of a recent album with bluegrass singer Alison Krauss and interestingly Jason Bonham did not mention Plant's name during the interview.
Sadly before we get to hear any new material or indeed see our heroes "lots of politics [would need to] get ironed out".
Bonham has spent the past several years with Foreigner, but has said he will be leaving them on September 1.
Oooooo come on I absolutely HAVE to see Led Zepp before I die!!!
