Yesterday the Scum's (thats the Sun for you Guardian readers out there) goth showbiz muck spreader Victoria Newton broke the video of Pete Doherty shooting heroin. The video was paraded on the Sun website and accompanied by Newton's insightful analysis and powerful call to action. Apparently Doherty has manipulated and fooled his friends, family, magistrates and judges...I almost thought I had stumbled upon a Daily Mail article. There are serious doubts regarding the date of the video with Sun claiming it is new and others claiming not. Not a great surprise hey? So my point is if he chooses to do that just leave him to get on with it. Why is it when it's Winehouse everyone feels sorry for her but when it's Doherty he is insulted and called a liar across the press. I think the guy makes pretty good music, its not new for rockers to take drugs and does it REALLY constitute news? Surely not!
